Who here plays the stock market, share your experiences!
Messed around with Investopedia simulator during a Finance course I took. The game started players with $100,000 cash. Made leveraged buys for four different ETFs and left it for a solid year. Sold it all and ended up with $155,000.
Played with test credits and did ok but a different ball game when real money
Never traded live stocks, only forex but as mentioned above once the real money comes in to play it's a totally different game as people are emotional creatures!
In the '80's and '90's I had a balanced portfolio with Shearson Lehman/ American Express. It was a managed portfolio, I didn't guide the investments much, on occasion I would make some picks. They did well by me. They were kicking ass in the 80's, earning me an average of 18%.
Full-time investor/day-trader here;
At this point I'm making enough to live off of should I choose.
