Twenty-two cases of E. coli infection have been traced to Chipotle restaurants in Oregon and Washington, which closed abruptly Friday, health authorities said Saturday.

They've been really trying to win back their customers in recent months. Twice now they have done promotions in my area offering free burritos. One was held a day after a company wide meeting to revamp their food safety efforts. And just a couple weeks ago I received a flyer in the mail for a free item off their menu - a burrito, or tacos, or a burrito bowl or salad. Some friends of mine who redeemed theirs even said they were allowing double portions of meat and other toppings for free as well, if you asked. I ordered a standard burrito bowl, but didn't push it with the double toppings - but I did notice they also offered to throw in some tortillas with it, which I don't recall them doing before.
