Just wanted to stop in and tell you about an app competition I am putting on called The App Idea Awards.

All you have to do is submit your idea for a chance to have your app built for free, without sacrificing any equity or intellectual property rights.

Applicants will have the opportunity to be judged by various angel investors and top venture capitalists. We have an awesome panel of judges for the final event lined up, including VCs from First Round, Greycroft, Norwest, Samsung Ventures and more.

You can find more information on our website (appideaawards.com), but if you have any questions feel free to reach out here in the comments (or DM me.)

Sounds like a great way to have my idea stolen!

I think I'll have to agree with you.

The first thing that I noticed was that you have to send them your idea right upfront, without any kind of NDA signed or anything like that. Then I carefully read the terms and conditions and found number 9 to be very fishy, they basically claim ownership to anything that you send them unless is registered.

Glad you happened to agree with me. Hard to even have ANY equity or ownership to begin with if you're just sending them an idea. No different that talking with friends about an idea at a bar or something. Simply suggesting something doesn't imply any ownership.

This is very cool, except for the fact that, as previously mentioned, the ownership rules seem to be a bit wobbly. Please explain, as what I have been seeing in the comments does not correlate with what you are claiming.
